What is going on with the Orange Line? First the 30 day shutdown back in August of last year where people had to plan their way into making their way in Boston within the downtown area through the wasted money on the too local coach buses, putting their overdedicated investment into the Junk Chinese cars which keeps breaking down every 3-5 months and their refusal to put the old 1980s cars we used to ride in to make up for the broken down cars.
Last Friday, the day before New Years Eve, the T released a statement in regards to the new cars that they took some of the cars out of service due to some arching issue in 9 of the 70-80 cars already in service. How come these cars seem to have more problems than the Bombarider? The only thing I know is that they were delayed with their deliveries but in my opinion they didn’t have the same problem as the doomed manufacturer CRRC. The R179 for the bombardier were delivered between 2017 and 2020 for around 300+ cars while the MBTA purchased around 150 of them and it is 2023 and its has been 5 years since the T got those damn lemons, worse the R179 Bombardier and just as bad as the stupid Junk Bredas.
According to NETransit, almost 50 of the old cars are still opertable, yet it was the T’s decision to keep those old ones out of service even though they run a lot better than the Chinese ones. So why cause all this inconvenience for people who are trying to make it to their jobs everyday? Why make people angry because they just missed their connection or trying to get home? Why was it the T’s decision to just keep the new ones in rather than the old ones? Who on earth knows.
I don’t really mind walking on the streets of Boston when it is nice outside, but when it is cold or people are rushing to get to work or make their connection, but the T should know we have a life to live and make a living for ourselves. I hope someone can come in, take charge and fix this mess. I hate complaining about this every day!
